Field Trip   Olde Mine Park Trumbull Connecticut   August 26, 2012 Sunday 9AM -2PM   


Digging is Not Allowed.  Collecting is permitted at the Park.

To collect Mineral Specimens you must sign in at the Trumbull Police station located at 158 Edison Road.

You do not have to follow this requirement if you just intend to visit the Park.


These directions are from the New Haven area and will take you to the Trumbull Police Department, and then, to the Park.

From CT-15S  Take exit 48  take right onto CT 111N Main Street. Take First Right onto Edison Rd.

From Edison Rd.   take CT-111N to Junction with. CT-25.

(Olde Mine Park Road is just after the Junction., on the right).

Continue on CT-111N, Take First Right onto, Olde Mine Road, follow to parking area and bridge.

The Mine area paths are directly across the River.

Collecting tools  for this location might include a chip hammer, and safety glasses, a mineral field guide of some sort,

a hand lens, or loupe, a Fluorescent lamp, and blackout cloth,.a  pot of hot water, food and drinking water.

There are grills and a picnic pavilion. There are no facilities provided at this location.
